The O.D.I.N. standard

Four traits. One standard for every dog.

Every program we run is built on the same four pillars — the ones that separate a dog that's merely trained from one you can truly rely on.

O

Obedience

The foundation of everything. Clear structure and consistent communication, so your dog knows exactly what's being asked.

D

Defense

Controlled protection work built on a stable temperament — a dog that switches on when asked and off when it matters.

I

Instinct

We read a dog's natural drives — prey, scent, pack — and channel them into purposeful, rewarding work.

N

Nerve

Confidence under pressure. A dog that recovers quickly, stays clear-headed, and trusts its handler anywhere.

How it works

Our sire

Odin

Odin (AKC: ODIN XXVI) is a black male born July 22, 2026, bred by Luis Davila out of Boyka Davila and Pantera Davila. His pedigree draws on Mexican and European working lines, including the French import Fantôme de la Plaine des Cheyennes and the Von Ayce line through Baco von Ayce. He's being raised and trained start to finish at ODIN-K9, and his early shaping work is already laying the foundation for a future in sport and in our breeding program.

What we offer

Ways to
work with us

Every program starts with an evaluation of the dog in front of us — not a one-size-fits-all package.

01

Dog Evaluation Session

A one-on-one assessment of your dog's temperament, drive, and obedience baseline. This is where we figure out what your dog needs and which program fits before you commit to anything further.

02

Private Lessons

One-on-one sessions at a location we arrange with you, built around your dog's temperament and your goals — obedience, drive work, or behavioral issues.

03

Group Classes

Group obedience for dogs who've built a foundation and need proofing around distraction, other dogs, and real-world environments. We'll start classes once we have enough clients ready for them.

Meet the team

Douglas Williamson
Co-founder & trainer · Kerrville & the Texas Hill Country

Douglas Williamson

Douglas has spent over 15 years training dogs hands-on — first with his own, then with friends' and family's dogs as word got around. His methods are grounded in the drive-based, relationship-focused training pioneered by Michael Ellis, and he's fully committed to the Belgian Malinois: their drive, their intelligence, and what they're capable of with the right structure and relationship. He's currently raising a new Malinois puppy he's training from the ground up with the goal of competition — the same start-to-finish process every ODIN-K9 dog goes through.

Josh Clark

Josh has been part of this story from the very beginning. A close friend of Douglas's for over 15 years, he was there helping train Koba, the dog that started it all. Today he works alongside his own Malinois, Honey, who comes straight from Koba's line and serves as a medical assistance service dog, living proof of what this bloodline can do with the right foundation. Josh brings that same patience and steady hand to every dog he works with, and a firsthand understanding of what it takes to raise a Malinois into a dog people can truly rely on.

Parents & puppies

AKC-registered Belgian Malinois, health-tested before breeding and before any puppy goes home.

Every litter is planned around stable temperament, real working drive, and sound health. Puppies are assessed early so each one goes to the home and the work it’s suited for.

Koba

2015 – 2020

This all started with him. Koba was Douglas's first Malinois, and everything ODIN-K9 has become traces back to what he taught along the way. His line has since retired, but the lessons he left behind shape how every dog in this kennel is raised and trained.

Agreement

Waitlist agreement & right to refuse

  • Applying is free and doesn’t guarantee a puppy. The waitlist doesn’t reserve a specific puppy, sex or litter date. Litters depend on our dogs’ health and timing, and we can’t promise when one will happen.
  • ODIN-K9 has the right to refuse. We may decline an application, or take someone off the waitlist, at any point before a puppy goes home — even after approval. We’ll always tell you, though we may not always give a reason.
  • We choose the match. We decide which puppy goes to which home, based on each puppy’s temperament and your goals.
  • Honest answers. If something you tell us turns out to be untrue, or you leave out something important, we may cancel a placement.
  • Getting to know you. We may ask for a phone call, a meeting or a home visit, and may contact the vet you list.
  • No payment to apply. If you’re approved and a litter is planned, we’ll ask for a deposit, with the amount and terms given to you in writing first.

When a puppy goes home

Every ODIN-K9 puppy goes home under a signed Puppy Placement Agreement. You’ll get the full agreement to read before you pay a deposit or sign it. In short, you’ll agree to:

  • Give the dog lifelong care: regular vet care, vaccines, parasite prevention, good food, a healthy weight, and safe housing as part of your family.
  • Train, exercise and socialize the dog, and keep it safely contained.
  • Never sell, give away or surrender the dog to anyone — including a shelter, rescue or pet store — without our written OK.
  • If you ever can’t keep the dog — at any age, for any reason — contact us first and return the dog to ODIN-K9. We will always take our dogs back. Returns aren’t refunded.
  • Allow ODIN-K9 to take the dog back if it is being neglected or mistreated.
  • Send us updates now and then, and let us check in on how the dog is doing.
  • Talk to us before spaying or neutering, and not breed the dog without our written permission.
